SHACK 4134 DUALITY

Courtesy Painting by Mounia Dadi  Saatchi Art

I like the starkness of the painting. I have shared many times that from the NDE and the struggle to incarnate I have found the Earth and its beauty hard and uncompromising, yet in the dual aspect beautiful and exotic.

In myself I have struggled with the dual aspect; the revengeful anger and hard aspects of myself and faced this in forensics, family breakups and a hard childhood not so from beatings for there were no beatings, but being neglected and not visible, yes there was love more out of duty than genuine care and this was not the fault of parents and carers this was because they suffered through various problems, mainly financial and mental health.

Then later wondering about the NDE and what and where and then the Koan and the shift I had to deal with at a young age with the duality and schism, in fact the schism made me aware of the duality and for some years I was a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and struggled with the yin and yang and the swing of polarity and then realised that opposites were not detrimental or opposites they were and could be complimentary, depending on the inborn attitudes by brain washing and conditioning and my favourite word inculcation (Inculcation is the instilling of knowledge or values in someone, usually by repetition. To inculcate is to instil or impress an idea on someone, so inculcation is the process of instilling or impressing ideas. A lot of teaching is a form of inculcation: teachers repeat information to students, hoping it will sink in)I would add relentless repetitive aspects of information often to do with life styles, religion and faith, culture and parental and environmental, fads and fashions impacting by the media and hype at any particular epoch.

Should the schism be very severe it can lead to mental derangement and therapy sought, often the therapist would not be competent and lead to more confusion or a psychiatric drug  is introduced, this I leave to the professionals and I did just simple counselling and therapy of listening, sharing and and imagery and visualisations which were not instruction; such you come to a gate what colour is it, opening the gate who was or what was there and stressing let the image come to you and not will it and if nothing then let nothing be. Then we would share the images that arose as naturally as possible and feel the emotions and so on.

Some people I knew let their chattering minds be at odds with their instinctual gut feelings for quietness and surrendering to the instinctual mode was beautiful and restful and then the chattering demanding mind would blast them as if a punishment for daring to go away. Many a belief system with hard bound principles might cause  similar schisms and anxiety.

Something in us can instinctually or intuitively realise our inculcated selves are not the real deal so to speak, however years of repetitive 'bombardment' have an effect of producing a hard shell, a carapace so layered and protected that it presents as a habit or addiction which then takes centre stage and demands complete obedience and loyalty. Stepping beyond the borders of the enclosure of the conditioned mind causes guilt, denial and other negative and defensive mechanisms. Some countries are so fixed in their dogmas and beliefs that there is no room for alternatives and as such it can ferment over many a year and generation and cause civil war or violent oppression.

So watching the process of mind may give a clue to the false narratives accumulated through many incarnations or just this intense one of copious induced repetitive aspects akin to marketing and advertising employed by industry and by retailers.

So, is meditation of any use?; yes and no, if it is by attention without intention and by viewing without opinion probably yes, but unconsciously there is trap which may 'say' silently as a feeling with a meaning in it, 'I will watch and not judge' there is the trap of the first judgement, 'I will watch and not judge' can I view without evaluation. Can I look without naming, labelling, such as a tree is a tree not its name, Oak, Beech etc.. can I view the thoughts just as thoughts and feel the emotions as emotions plain and simple that they mean nothing, a tree is a tree, a thought is a thought and emotion is an emotion.
