The mind is like the space in a room and the body
/ brain is akin to the walls. When the
master says show me your mind it is impossible for space is invisible and
belongs to everything and is everywhere permeating through and is the creator
of form and yet invisible in it. So once
realising that the mind is not tangible the student is enlightened
intellectually until the student lives it so.
The furniture in the room is the content of the
mind and is expedient, transitory and can be minimal, cluttered, expensive or
cheap and made from many materials, they are all the choice of the conditioned
and cultural mind. The furniture can
moved and changed it is a commodity, the space is space, taking the analogy
that the space is awareness and consciousness then it cannot be changed, broken
down or eliminated. Space is not to be taken as oxygen either. Space uses Oxygen as an agent for form to
live in as Earth forms and so on.
Space is where everything exists with form or
without form for space is the formless. The furniture example also furnishes the ‘the
thief in the night should the watchman (awareness) be centred on the furniture' which robs the form of its essence or rather the essence of it and so
disappears when the furniture does or the form is extinguished.
The mind may seem to be contained in the brain or
form, the space may seem to be confined in the room and the walls so solid, yet
this containment is as far as the mind content will allow it to be so.
On death the walls collapse the awareness of the
furniture maybe held in a different dimension depending on the beliefs and
dimensions one may find oneself, however identifying with the space that is
everywhere and so one joins the sea of eternity, one can experience and still
live in a form only not be attached to the illusion of transitory forms.
This space is infinity and the room or forms are
finite, awareness in death of the form allows one to be what one has always
been an infinite space which is intelligent and all pervading. One in form always has to be prepared on
leaving it as such, it is not so much leaving, as space cannot leave, it is always
a constant and just is, it is merely the form crumbles when its purpose has
been fulfilled or needs another form to realise who it really is that is space
contained briefly in the visible form, form gives space temporary visibility to
those who experience its essence.
It is fact the fear of the loss of furniture and
Earthly trappings that brings grief and sorrow, the acquisitiveness’s of Mammon
and materialism that hold form back and the reluctance to let go.
Fear is the unconscious belief systems that auto
pilot one and we do them automatically and using the room as an analogy we have
the furniture in the room, the pictures and when we change the room about we
go to the known before the change and the known becomes known again in a
different update. In a fear thought it often arises ‘unconsciously’ that is with
loss of awareness so to some extent we live out most of our lives unconsciously
and we do not fully consciously experience life to the full because we use
automated reactionary processes. When we witness the fear thought and ‘walk and
face it full on’ we are conscious and aware of it and often the fear
dissipates. The real fear is ’we are not
in control of our lives, we think we are and feel we are but these insidious
subtle thoughts bubbling out of the unconscious seemingly nowhere mind that is
the lair of the ego'and the programmed, conditioned, brain washed mind and the REAL fear is that we are
controlled by a seemingly unknown source and that we are sidelined, when we
awake to this, the tussle then ensues and the ego mind feels it is losing
control and seeks at every instance to regain lost ground and starts a the tug of war.
The witness does not fight to regain its clarity,
like the sky fighting the clouds or the Sun doing the same. The clouds in this analogy are the thoughts
that persist and seem to form and change their appearance by the process of
their evolution as the ego does in modifying, reconfiguring, cosmetic appearances, a variation on theme and so on, the same old, same old camouflaged, sanitised
and a make over, a cloud remains a cloud whatever form or shape it becomes. In the analogy the sky is the canvas in which
the clouds moves on and the sun is always shinning.
The witness which is consciousness and awareness
is the silent invisible space mind constant and merely waits until the forms
dwindle away when their energy lags and they whittle away and then the Source
Witness is left alone with Itself and since space is infinite and eternal, all
meaningless words to the Self because it just enjoys who it is before form came
and went and so the moving cloud of finite mortal form plays the game with the infinite constant and yet dynamic Infinite.
What next you and I cry? Is there no let up? Oh
come on now don’t be a spoil sport life would be something different or would
it?
SHACK
