I
purchased a book by a well known theoretical physicist and the title was very
convincing suggesting that the world is not what it appears to be, at this
point there are many scientists who are writing and have written books of this
nature and indeed I write so. I do not
wish to say the author or the title as he is a brilliant writer and for many a
wonderful inspiring man, and some of his quotes can be thought provoking.
This
critique is purely because of my ‘mind set’ and I acknowledge I could be so out
of touch or wrong in my stuff and whilst saying to have less of beliefs and
mind sets and get back to ‘the mind of the wise child or a mind not so heavily
brain washed and to question who am I before I was taught to be who I am now’? So purely from this point of view the author
who included lots technical scientific formulae and equations, geometry and
such like which I admit are not my forte and just reading the history of
science ah la from ancient Greek, Indian and so on to the lead up to Plank,
Bohr, Heisenberg, Einstein and earlier derivatives from Newton, Faraday and so
on was a refresher from my student days.
Then
as a Quantum Meta Physicist this really bugged me; throughout the book the
author keeps applauding intuitive, and Ah Ha flashes and not once mentions
consciousness whilst I feel as many scientists do and the famous ones mentioned
above some of their quotes are almost spiritual, Eastern Philosophical sounding
and yet in this particular book it is all reduced to mathematical equations and
this can dull the mind to great spiritual and wondrous insights, yes he does
have them and has to prove it with maths, which can be shot down by others and
although they can verify many of the maths, it reduces it to ‘everything has to
be scientifically approved'.
This
mind set is then concretised; if it is not medically and scientifically
approved then psychic powers or telepathy, healing along with energy medicine,
herbs and complimentary medicine and science research on these is deemed being not
worthy of these eminent academic new priests of god like power minds.
The
world becomes mechanistic and the beauty and wonder of the Creation and however
it came to be, either a big bang or from Consciousness of a great Intelligence.
Does everything have to be proven? As I
read on a great sadness came upon me, nay a cold shivering and a kind of
darkness. This was not just disagreement
and a challenge to my points of view, for I have faced more serious issues than
this. This was a feeling of a formulated hard dry scientific world, a world
driven by science and especially those scientists in the pay of multinationals
who have the power to buy and sell humanity and have no allegiance to any creed
but wealth, rape of Earth and pollution of our rain forests, skies, water and minds.
I cried and could not
shake this concrete hard world of algorithms, algebra, logarithms, simultaneous
equations, vectors, calculus, geometry and all. I appreciate I maybe ‘old
fashioned’ ‘out of touch’ ‘need to get a life’ ‘and old man not with it’ and
many wonders have come out of science and medical interventions but somehow it
has tipped over too far to pure mechanistic reductionism and although admitting
intuition somehow it is only to prove a scientific equation and not from
consciousness. There are many scientists who have attested to a thought form
Universe, this is but one;
‘I incline to the idealistic theory that
consciousness is fundamental, and that the material universe is derivative from
consciousness, not consciousness from the material universe... In general the
universe seems to me to be nearer to a great thought than to a great machine.
It may well be, it seems to me, that each individual consciousness ought to be
compared to a brain-cell in a universal mind.
What remains is in any
case very different from the full-blooded matter and the forbidding materialism of the Victorian scientist. His objective and
material universe is proved to consist of little more than constructs of our
own minds. To this extent, then, modern physics has moved in the direction of
philosophic idealism. Mind and matter, if not proved to be of similar nature,
are at least found to be ingredients of one single system. There is no longer
room for the kind of dualism which has haunted philosophy since the days
of Descartes.
Finite picture whose
dimensions are a certain amount of space and a certain amount of time; the
protons and electrons are the streaks of paint which define the picture against
its space-time background. Traveling as far back in time as we can, brings us
not to the creation of the picture, but to its edge; the creation of the
picture lies as much outside the picture as the artist is outside his canvas.
On this view, discussing the creation of the universe in terms of time and space
is like trying to discover the artist and the action of painting, by going to
the edge of the canvas. This brings us very near to those philosophical systems
which regard the universe as a thought in the mind of its Creator, thereby
reducing all discussion of material creation to futility.’
In
the book the author has a problem with Quantum Gravity versus Einstein’s
General Theory Relativity, whereas one is a mollusc and is 'bendy' and space time is
localised by mass and the quantum is a process of appearances and probabilities
and possibilities which manifest when something collides with something and the
interchange and exchange produce an electron which goes through the exchanges
to produce other particles. So the
physical Universe of one clashes with the invisible and the infinitesimal
small.
If
one were to add consciousness into the equation it could lead to a mind that
produces building blocks as the firing of this mind, the movement of this mind
shows itself (if a brain scan were possible) that indeed at the quantum ‘level’
the movements of these interactions are indeed the synapses and neurons firing
and indeed like the potter is conceiving the pot and when the build up to
particles, atoms to molecules and then to the mollusc or pot, this is the process of manifestation
One
has a unified and holistic seamless path without division, indeed the brain is
producing holograms and taking mere frequencies, waves and like a TV giving the
mind of the individual to witness a world view and local mind and to the Cosmic
Mind a view of the Universe the non local mind. Consciousness then is the
Unifying facet and is the Theory of Everything and the Unified Field Theory. Too simple one might say? But it is human
nature to segregate to even put the theory of fields of magnetic energy into
separate fields always dissecting and so only seeing ‘bits’ the flywheel or
hour hand in the watch’. Compartmentalisation so apparent in medicine treating
the hour hand instead of the function of the watch as it were. Yes its treating
symptoms not the cause although there have been great breakthroughs. As I write
this in August 2018 here are rumours that the chemical companies are looking
into the DNA of patients and that medicine of the future maybe geared and
aligned to ones DNA ‘the baseball cap that one size fits all maybe changing’.
This
would be the gradual braking down of compartmentalising and also the patient
being seen as a mere slab of meat that moves about somehow. In complimentary medicine the patient is seen
as an individual with a history, life style, early years and so this means
spending time often an hour each visit and learning about this patient as a
person and so on. The old family doctor
or medicine person in a tribe worked wonders by just listening at times.
So
is everything clinical, without passion except a few to lead the many and
acquire huge wealth to rule by power, science, medical stringency, political
domination, religious indoctrination the few to lead the many and form an elite?
Perhaps
we are witnessing in the upheaval and overwhelm in the world as crime rates,
violence, wars, poverty, and extreme pollution with weather extremes, political
and religious intolerance and media advertising, huge mogul persons and
industries, monopolies and corruption and we see this instantly on our digital
appliances, we share every emotion with the wider world. Perhaps this is the
disintegration, the breakdown of many ‘mind sets’ and hopefully the
investigation to who is I before I was taught to be who I am now click in.
There is a danger that as it all begins to tumble and breakdown a vacuum
develops and wild search for an identity and then very clever manipulators move
in and seduce the open raw mind which in its panic may move to disenchantment
and distraction and self harm. We could witness the ‘one world government,
religion and ethic’.
So
it is important to keep questioning and develop a relaxing routine for the body
lie Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilate's, Qi Gong and
then a real meditation as distinct from affirmations, chanting, prayer,
visualisation, mind games, yantra, mantra and so on, all of these are great
aides which can lead to meditation, maybe starting with mindfulness which is great
and watching oneself in reaction through it and revealing the building of the
brain washing one may have received and break the mould of the one size fits
all.
